For me, the best part of romance stories is the sexual tension that has a pay off only after you've come to care about the characters。 On the other side of the spectrum are the many, many contemporary romances competing for attention in a glutted market by serving up so many steamy scenes that the reader is desensitized and finds none of it arousing。 "My Darling Bride" falls into that second category。 For me, the best part of romance stories is the sexual tension that has a pay off only after you've come to care about the characters。 On the other side of the spectrum are the many, many contemporary romances competing for attention in a glutted market by serving up so many steamy scenes that the reader is desensitized and finds none of it arousing。 "My Darling Bride" falls into that second category。 。。。more

Wonderful marriage of convenience I loved this book! Very enjoyable story。 It was such a fun read。 It was nice to see discussion on the dangers of playing professional football not a typical topic in a romance novel。

This was such a cute book to read! OK read, but lots of lying and withholding as part of the fake marriage。 Got a little tedious。
Leah,
Lacks depth。 Author skipped over developing an emotional connection between the main characters。

Okay … borderline contrived, but I like how all the life events in Graham’s and Emmy’s separate existences (and dream moments, hint, hint) turned out to be the universe bringing them together。 Love’s *magic*!I appreciate how neither brought up the fact that they each jumped to conclusions when they saw the other with their ex-es (he learned about a photographer catching Emmy & Kian outside the bookstore, Emmy came upon Graham and Divina at what was supposed to be a family reception for Graham & Okay … borderline contrived, but I like how all the life events in Graham’s and Emmy’s separate existences (and dream moments, hint, hint) turned out to be the universe bringing them together。 Love’s *magic*!I appreciate how neither brought up the fact that they each jumped to conclusions when they saw the other with their ex-es (he learned about a photographer catching Emmy & Kian outside the bookstore, Emmy came upon Graham and Divina at what was supposed to be a family reception for Graham & Emmy’s wedding), when they each confronted the other about their respective encounters。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 Major Spoilers Ahead******Let's think about this for a second, FMC did not feel comfortable enough to tell MMC that she was going hospital for surgery so she wouldn't bother him, I felt sorry for her, for being in love with someone like that。 Seriously, she felt more comfortable with her abusive ex taking care of her grans funeral/ taking care of her when she first went to the hospital。 FMC seemed nice and way more invested。 MMC seemed aloof, and just did not want to be in a relationship。 I did Major Spoilers Ahead******Let's think about this for a second, FMC did not feel comfortable enough to tell MMC that she was going hospital for surgery so she wouldn't bother him, I felt sorry for her, for being in love with someone like that。 Seriously, she felt more comfortable with her abusive ex taking care of her grans funeral/ taking care of her when she first went to the hospital。 FMC seemed nice and way more invested。 MMC seemed aloof, and just did not want to be in a relationship。 I did not buy the love note near the end, you can just imagine him throwing the fact he quit football for her in her face, in future arguments。 。。。more

i wish i could articulate exactly what it is with this book that didn't work 。。 it was missing some magic that this author's writing and this trope can bring。。 there were also too many things going on both with the main couple and with the side characters too。。 well, I can't win them all I guess。。 i wish i could articulate exactly what it is with this book that didn't work 。。 it was missing some magic that this author's writing and this trope can bring。。 there were also too many things going on both with the main couple and with the side characters too。。 well, I can't win them all I guess。。 。。。more

So this had a lot of things in it you might want to know ahead of time:- Illness/Medical stuff- Abusive & controlling partner/ex- Parent neglect- Mention of alcohol addiction- Mention of a family member shooting another and being in jail- Blackmail (?)- cheating - A harassment scene with a non-main character- ManipulationBasically a lot, not saying it's bad, just saying it might not match my mood。。。 DNF 33% So this had a lot of things in it you might want to know ahead of time:- Illness/Medical stuff- Abusive & controlling partner/ex- Parent neglect- Mention of alcohol addiction- Mention of a family member shooting another and being in jail- Blackmail (?)- cheating - A harassment scene with a non-main character- ManipulationBasically a lot, not saying it's bad, just saying it might not match my mood。。。 DNF 33% 。。。more

Courtney,
BLAH。 This had so much potential but it just never came together…even at the end。 The pacing and development just felt wrong。 And there was so much unnecessary focus on the smaller storylines of the book。 I’ve liked this author in this past, but this is a skip IMO。
Natalie Brooks,
3。3 stars。 I didn’t really believe the romance。 Seemed the main characters didn’t spend enough time together for any love to bloom。

The chemistry between them is amazing。 The dialogs are really good, witty and sexy。 There are a few steamy moments that I live for。 There’s aghast, emotions involve and cute secondary characters。 This is an auto-buy author for me。 Her writing is engaging and flawless。The story is definitely addictive。 I couldn’t stop reading it or smiling。 I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily。 。。。more

I enjoyed a lot about this one。 The whole meet cute and bookstore plus her family…just wow! I really liked her family and I will mention his brother is just charming。 Overall this is a wonderful listen。 Sebastian York and Samantha Peachwood did a wonderful job with narration。

cute story! This was a fun read。 Im looking forward to reading Jane and Jasper! Please tell me you are doing something for them!

This story was cute。 Fake marriage that turns achingly real for her pretty fast, it takes him no time at all to give into his physical attraction to her but it takes him nearly the entire book to realize that he loves her deeply and needs to give his heart to her to keep her。Once he realizes that and he slowly makes things up to her for pushing her away their relationship is truly beautiful。 The scene in the bookstore when he gives her back her rings was so sweet! I love how he made the proposal This story was cute。 Fake marriage that turns achingly real for her pretty fast, it takes him no time at all to give into his physical attraction to her but it takes him nearly the entire book to realize that he loves her deeply and needs to give his heart to her to keep her。Once he realizes that and he slowly makes things up to her for pushing her away their relationship is truly beautiful。 The scene in the bookstore when he gives her back her rings was so sweet! I love how he made the proposal there just for them also。 One thing I didn’t really like was how this book was mostly her POV The narrators were Sebastian York and Savannah Peachwood。They fit the characters of this story perfectly。 I am very much looking forward to Jasper and Jane’s story though! He’s a little bit playboy and a whole lot sweetheart and he already knows how to get under her skin lol 。。。more

Good story。This book has some entertaining scenes。 Especially the one where Emmy and Graham meet the first time with cowboy Clint。 You do know that she’s the girl from his accident because she fits the description。
